Bad Seed puts Angry Orchard to shame! I first tried a sample of their cider at a beer store and was so pleasantly surprised that we decided to stop there on the same day as an Angry Orchard trip. Split a large flight with my husband and all were fantastic ciders, and on the dry side thankfully. Nothing cloying and even the fruity ones were really well balanced. The taproom has a chill, open, welcoming-but-cozy atmosphere, complete with an arcade and live music outside. Their small food menu was appealing and smelled great, and wish we’d ordered some. Will absolutely be back.

Great place to hydrate after a hike. Live music, pizza truck and very dog friendly. Bad Seed Cider is GOOD! Can grab flights of 4 or 6. Try everything. They also have nonalcoholic cider for the kids.

This place is super dog friendly! Yes, they have amazing ciders (and beers) with plenty of seating both inside and out, the food truck outside offers flavorful food, and the bartender is very knowledgeable and visibly passionate about his job, but the highlight for me was him going out of his way to rinse a bowl for my dog! I enjoyed the cider flight and rosemary fries outside with a beautiful view of their apple orchard, while our pup enjoyed clean water out of Bad Seed's labeled water bowl.

9.23.22 Devin and his staff went above and beyond to make our wedding day the most magical and beautiful day of our lives and kept us relaxed and stress-free. Beyond having an incredible selection of unique favorable cider varieties and high-quality pizzas, they were the best venue for a wedding we could have asked for. The atmosphere and energy were on par with our vision, and the venue is the perfect size for a full outdoor or indoor/outdoor wedding. We loved having the fire pits, pinball machines, and cornhole. The way the cidergarten and cidery inside is laid out is welcoming for guests. We especially loved the natural seasonal floral/plant arrangements and decor they have to decorate the cidergarten. When we returned the next day, the staff had cleaned up all of our items to be picked up neatly, and we enjoyed some pizza and cider. Lastly, Devin and his team worked so well with our outside vendors; they all ebbed and flowed like they had been working together for years. I honestly can't say enough amazing things about this place; it was perfect in every way, and anytime there was a moment of confusion or question, Devin and his staff were right there, making everything great again! The communication and the planning process was also phenomenal, and he worked with us so well, especially with being out of state and planning to come up after booking. Getting married under the beautiful tree on the edge of the orchard in the Gunks was always my dream. We can't wait to visit again for our first anniversary since we now live in Maryland (The Hudson Valley is my home of 29 years) and for every year after with our two dogs.

I attended a wedding here yesterday and it was beautiful and unique. Not your typical venue for a wedding but this works. Scenic, crisp fresh air, apples, grapes, old farm rustic feel, upstate NY(kinda) all the leaves are changing colors, great beer and friendly staff.

This place is gorgeous! I was here for a wedding. If you're looking for a nice wedding venue with gorgeous views, this is the place! There was a very pretty apple orchard. Their outdoor eating area was very clean and spacious. Their bathrooms were clean! The staff was great and attentive. My husband and I don't drink alcohol so we ordered non-alcoholic apple cider - very good! I really enjoyed being here.

I cannot top Isaac's review... or the fries - believe Isaac. And that garlic aioli dip?? Get extra. Came for the cider though and the selection was great - shared a large flight. The pizza was also very good! Cute spot to chill. The fire pits out front were great and they have board games and pinball! Staff was also friendly.

Making a venue decision is one of the most daunting tasks facing an engaged couple, and I’m hoping this review helps make that decision easier: get married at Bad Seed. The space is incredible, the staff is unparalleled, and the ciders are delicious. Allow me to elaborate: for our wedding in May 2023, our vision was a fun party surrounded by 80 of our closest family members and friends. Bad Seed is one of our favorite local breweries, and it’s an important place for my husband and for me, so booking them was a no-brainer. We did look at least 20 venues, compared costs, created spreadsheets, etc—but at the end of the day, the awesome space, the ability to support an awesome small local business, and responsiveness and openness of Devin (one of the owners) made picking Bad Seed a no-brainer. Bad Seed only hosts one wedding a weekend, which is also fantastic because it gives you, the couple, so much more time and flexibility. (So many venues that we saw had very strict, machine-like policies that I understand from an efficiency perspective—but on one of the most special days of your life, you might want a little more flexibility.) Our original vision for our wedding was outdoors under the beautiful oak tree in the orchard, followed by a cocktail hour under the twinkle lights and open sky, with the reception and dance party to follow indoors. Of course, despite it not having rained for 7 years prior on our wedding date, it poured exactly when our ceremony and cocktail hour were starting. But Bad Seed was ready to deal with that and made our day even better than we thought possible—we activated our Plan B and got married in the giant keg room (which was really cool and super on-brand for me and my husband), and had an absolute blast. Even though I was a neurotic mess checking the weather every 10 seconds, Devin and the Bad Seed crew rolled with it, allowing me to make my decision about braving the outdoors vs moving the ceremony indoors until about 4 hours before go-time. Seriously, these guys are the best. I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves, and reiterate: Bad Seed rocks. Get married here. You won’t regret it.
